The time has finally arrived for a national competition - introducing Ridgeline of NZ’s Biggest Wild Boar Hunt.

 No weaners – only 180lbs or over!

The winner receives $1,000 rrp of Ridgeline clothing and a trophy!

 

‘Ridgeline of NZ's Biggest Wild Boar Hunt’ Terms & Conditions:

 

A)     This is an annual New Zealand wide competition. It begins January 1st and ends December 31st.

B)     The ‘Ridgeline of NZ's Biggest Wild Boar Hunt’ is open to all recognised NZ pighunting clubs and advertised short-term pighunting competitions.

C)     To participate pighunting clubs and clubs must register their desire to do so. In the case of short term competitions registration must be at least a week before their competition. Pighunting clubs with an ongoing annual competition can register at any time during the year but it must be at least a week before the boar being taken. A single registration by a club will cover all boars entered by final club for the whole year.

D)     To register, clubs and competitions must fill in a registration form and forward to Bob Jeffares (Bob@Pighunt.co.nz). Registration forms can be downloaded here.

E)      All competitions judged by Ridgeline Judging System teams are deemed to be automatically entered.

F)      To qualify all boars must be the same metric equivalent of 180lbs or better.

G)     The actual entry of individual boars is a simple statement from the club or competition that the boar meets the conditions and rules of the ‘Scheme’.  The boar itself does not have to be seen by the organisers.

H)     Ongoing results (the names of the hunters and weights of boars) will be advertised in each issue of the New Zealand Pighunter and Morepork magazines plus Ridgeline’s websites and facebook pages.

I)        The winning boar for the year will be the heaviest boar taken and recorded during the year.

Hunting Rules for ‘Ridgeline of NZ's Biggest Wild Boar Hunt’:

The following rules apply:

  1. Boars only, no barrows eligible
  2. All pigs must be wild, that is born wild, lived wild and caught wild.
  3. All boars must be weighed on reliably calibrated, digital crane scales or clock-face scales weighing in kgs. No platform stock scales to be used. Conversion of kgs to pounds will be done by organisers.
  4. Testicles may be left in or taken out as the entrant desires.
  5. No frozen boars permitted.
  6. All offal must be removed before weighing.
  7. Pigs must be weighed in one piece with head intact. Photograph must accompany each boar entered by a competition or club.
  8. If more than one hunter caught the boar, all names of those who were on the hunt can be included but there will be only one prize.
  9. If two boars are the same weight then the first one notified to the organisers will be deemed to be the winner.
  10. Judges decision will be final.

Judges for this ongoing annual competition are to be Bob Jeffares editor New Zealand Pighunter magazine and Leader Ridgeline Judging Systems and Dave Cameron, Managing Director, Ridgeline.

Prize:

·         $1,000 of Ridgeline Clothing

·         Trophy for Club (if applicable) otherwise will be displayed in the nearest Ridgeline Stockist

·         Trophy for the individual(s)
